Part Time Labor (Lawn Care)

The PT Labor employee will have a primary job of lawn care, any assistance needed in the public works day to day operation will be as needed. The PT Labor job description is in addition to the Public Works employee job description.

Part Time Labor (Lawn Care)

The Part Time Labor employee duties will include general lawn maintenance and care of City Properties, roadways and the cemetery.
The Part Time Labor employee will possess above average skills in areas such as interaction with fellow employees, knowledge of lawn care equipment operation and maintenance, dependability and most importantly exhibit a “can-do” attitude.
This position is needed during the mowing season, a maximum of 30 hours a week as needed, for a maximum of 30 weeks as needed.
March - October is a mowing Season
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports. The ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language is mandatory.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Other Qualifications
Knowledge and training in the operation, repair and maintenance of vehicles City equipment. Ability to work nights, weekends, overtime and odd hours when emergencies require.

A high school diploma or GED, and experience in public works operations or lawn care is required.

Equipment Used: Hand tools, power tools, trucks, construction equipment, lawn care equipment, welding equipment, gauges, meters, measuring devices, calculators, copy machine, computers, and computerized vehicle equipment.
$10.00 per hour
30 hours per week maximum, as needed.
30 weeks per year maximum, as needed.
Maximum $9,000 Total Compensation for this position.
